Passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, May 17th, 2026, in his 72nd year.
David was predeceased by his parents, Melburne and Rita, as well as his beloved wife, June, nine years ago, a loss he carried deeply throughout the years that followed. Their life together was built on love, companionship, and treasured memories that remained close to his heart every day.
Though he had no children of his own, David leaves behind many relatives, neighbours, and close friends who became like family to him. He will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, sense of humour, and the quiet way he always made others feel welcome and valued.
David will be lovingly remembered as a kind-hearted and genuine man whose warmth, humour, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Born and raised in Whitchurch-Stouffville, David later made his home in Elmvale, where he became a familiar face, making many cherished friends within the community.
David had a true passion for life and the things that brought people together. He loved cars and could spend hours talking about them with anyone who shared the same interest. Music was another great joy in his life, and he enjoyed both writing and playing music whenever he could. He also loved a good game of cards, evenings spent dancing, and the laughter and friendship that came with those moments. David appreciated simple pleasures, meaningful conversations, and time shared with others.
All are welcome to gather at the Innisfil Funeral Home in Stroud on Sunday, May 24th for visitations from 3:00pm – 5:00pm and 6:00pm – 8:00pm. A third visitation will be held on Monday, May 25th from 10:00am – 11:00am, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am. The family invites all guests to stay afterwards for a reception, where light refreshments and fond memories can be shared. Burial will take place following the reception at Pine Orchard Cemetery in Newmarket.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in David's memory can be made to Hospice Simcoe and Diabetes Canada.
David's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
