Allan James McDougall

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Allan James McDougall, in his 77th year, on July 26, 2025, in Innisfil, Ontario, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on November 28, 1948, in Toronto, Allan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Barbara (née Richard), and their three sons: Brian (Cheryl), Bill (Tracy), and Mike. Cherished Grandpa to Brandon, Ashley, Dakota, Kristyn, Matthew, Haley, and Scott. Allan will also be dearly missed by his sisters Sandy Sayers and Karen Cameron; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Beverly and Brian Bell, Brian and Lynn Richard, and Brad and Carol Richard; many nieces and nephews; and his much-loved fur-grandbabies.

Allan built a fulfilling career as a Combustion Mechanic with the Toronto District School Board. Known for his kindness, reliability, and quick wit, he was always ready to lend a hand or offer a smile. To his sons’ friends, he was affectionately known as Mr. Mac—a sign of the respect and warmth he inspired in all who knew him. He found joy in travelling with Barb, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on his kids and grandkids at the rink or field—though he made time for the Toronto Maple Leafs too. A master of the daily crossword and a true sports enthusiast, Allan had a sharp mind and a generous heart.

Loved by all who knew him, Allan’s warmth and humour will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 1:00p.m. - 4:00p.m. at the Innisfil Funeral Home, 7910 Yonge Street, Innisfil, ON, L9S 1L5. All are welcome to join us in honouring a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Allan to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
