Passed away peacefully at home with grace & dignity, surrounded by his family.
Beloved husband to Shelley Lynn (nee Wilkes) for 20 years. Loving and devoted father to Kyle (Renee) McKee, Justin McKee, Courtney (Colin) Merry, Brandon Oles, and Cameron (Stephanie) Oles. Proudest Papa to Milayna, Derek, & Evelyn. Predeceased by parents Bill & Betty McKee. Dear brother to Barbara Quigley, Nancy (Sandy) White, Peter McKee (predeceased), and Liz McKee (Al Bell). Chris will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Chris’ life was defined by resilience, laughter, and an unwavering love for the people and passions that filled his days.
A fierce competitor with a natural talent, he played darts, bringing both precision and personality to every match. He was a devoted fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs, cheering them on through every high and low with the loyalty only a true fan understands. Whether on the Big Cedar Golf Course with Shelley at his side, or watching a hockey game, he carried a spirit of camaraderie and disarming sense of humour that drew people in. He was never more at peace than when he was outdoors, simply enjoying the fresh air and wide-open skies.
For more than thirteen years, he battled cancer with extraordinary strength and determination. He fought every odd, every setback, and every challenge with courage. His resilience was nothing short of remarkable. Even in the face of adversity he remained hopeful, smiling that unforgettable smile, and was deeply committed to living fully. He did not let his illness define him — instead, he defined himself by his perseverance.
His legacy is one of strength, laughter, loyalty, and love. He leaves behind a community of friends and family who will forever carry his stories, his jokes, and his spirit with them.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 28, at the Innisfil Funeral Home, 7910 Yonge Street, Innisfil, from 10:00am until the time of Service in the Chapel at 11:00am. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation through the funeral home to the Canadian Lymphoma Association in Chris’ memory.
He fought hard. He loved deeply. He lived fully. And he will never be forgotten.
