Eleanor Doris Cappell

Eleanor Doris Cappell, 86, passed away peacefully on October 8th, 2025. Born in Toronto on February 14th, 1939, Eleanor was known for her vibrant personality, her refreshing honesty, and her timeless sense of style. The love she gave to her family was unwavering and unconditional, a constant source of strength and comfort to all who shared her life. Though Eleanor loved bingo, playing cards, and watching the Toronto Maple Leafs, her favourite role was that of grandmother. She treasured her time with her grandkids and loved being their Nana, never failing to ride a roller coaster with them, attend their activities, or adventure around the world to watch them grow up.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Cappell and her baby sister Lucy Landon. She is survived by her older sister Joan Kormany, son Ted (Jennifer) Iannuzzi, daughter Ginitta (Ken) Fitzpatrick, and grandchildren Anthony (Lorianne) Iannuzzi, Madison (Ashton) Fitzpatrick and Joseph Iannuzzi.

A celebration of life will be held for close family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who loved her are encouraged to make donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in her name.
