Franklin ‘Frank’ Lee Golder

It is with profound sadness that we announce Frank passed away unexpectedly at home in the morning hours of Tuesday, August 11, 2020. Franklin ‘Frank’ Lee Golder of Belle Ewart, On, formally of Little Current, Manitoulin Island. He just celebrated his 76th birthday. Devoted father of Michael Golder of Little Current, Manitoulin Island and Tammie Sarra (Vito Ierullo) of Mississauga, On. Partner of over 30 years to Anne Bednarz of Belle Ewart, On. Proud Poppa of Beth, Tristin, Mason & Tanner Golder of Little Current, Manitoulin Island, and Michael and Anthony Sarra of Mississauga, On. Frank was honoured to have been the Step-Dad of Paul and Jenn Martin and their children Noah and Tess of Belle Ewart, On and Leslie Martin and her children Tyler, Drake, Nick and Aaron of Anton Mills, On. Frank was the second born of Hazen and Vicki Golder when he arrived on July 21, 1944 in Woodstock, N.B. He was the beloved brother of seven. Fondly remembered as the ‘short one with a small laugh’ by Hazen (Jane) Nanaimo B.C., Dianna (Charles Hachey) Bathurst, NB, Colin, Diamondhead, Mississippi, USA, Liz (Ron LeDrew) Perth, On and Harley (Faye) Telkwa, B.C. Frank was predeceased by his parents Hazen (1996) and Vicki (2016) and by his brothers Herbie (1963) and Paul (2012). His grandparents Herbert Lee and Henriata Golder of Lakeville, NB and Victoria Mary and Frederick Pickering of Birkenhead, C. England. Also survived by, of the Golder Clan; 13 nieces and nephews, 20 great nieces and nephews, five Aunts and Uncles and many cousins in Canada, USA and England. Also, survived by sister-in-law’s Diane, Krista and Terri as well as the mother of his children Nola Golder. His canine buddy, Ruby will miss their daily morning and evening walks. Frank Golder was an auto mechanic and bodyman by trade having owned and operated his own business on the Island and in Espanola, Ontario for many years. He loved to work alongside his son restoring and bringing life back to older models. He was respected in his trade by all who worked alongside him. Frank was an avid golfer and loved getting out on the course especially with his brothers Hazen and Colin and his son-in-law Vito. He and Anne were regulars at their local course and having enjoyed golfing where ever they traveled and lived. His unique sense of humour, that laugh, those blue eyes and caring unassuming personality will be missed by all. “It was always a fun time when Frank visited”. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Innisfil Funeral Home. As per Frank’s wishes there will be no official Funeral Service. His ashes will be laid to rest alongside his late brother Herbie on Manitoulin Island with a Graveside Service and Celebration of Life at a later date to be announced.
