Ian David Twa
February 29th, 1964 - August 15th, 2025
With shattered hearts, we share with all of you the passing of Ian Twa on August 15th, 2025, at Royal Victoria Hospital after a short battle with multiple infections.
He leaves behind his Wife, Melissa, a son, Robert, a daughter-in-law, Melissa, a daughter, Nicole, a son-in-law, Stephen, and a stepdaughter, Vivien. As well as his grandsons, Hayden and Tristan, and granddaughter, Sophia. Ian is survived by his mother, Marilyn. He also leaves behind more than just his family; he leaves behind friends, truck-driving companions, the H.S. Knills Family, and fellow Masons.
Ian was born in Pembroke, moved around a bit, spent half of his adult life in Peterborough, before he moved to Innisfil in 2007. Ian spent all his adult life driving long haul. He loved being on the road, going to new places and meeting new people. His true passion was for moving cattle; many called him the cattle whisperer. He met many great farmers, breeders and other haulers this way and enjoyed it.
Ian lived by his own set of ethics and rules, and you always knew where you stood with him. He always tried to make time for his wife, family, friends (especially Marcus Fry), Masons and for fellow truck drivers he befriended across North America. On August 15th, the truck driving world lost one of the last great old school long-distance drivers.
He will be missed by everyone, especially his wife, who is unsure how to be without her rock.
