Ilka Hurman (nee Schoenig)

Ilka Hurman passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on September 2^nd, 2023 at Royal Victoria Hospital after a short battle with cancer. 

She is survived by her daughter Kristine Hurman, her daughter Trisha and son-in-law Tyler Harrison, and her grandsons Tyson and Tucker Harrison. She was known to many not just as Ilka, but as “Nana.” Her greatest love was her family. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas Hurman and her brother Ralph Schoenig. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Ilka's family is grateful for the outstanding medical care she received. Memorial donations can be made to: Royal Victoria Regional Health Care Centre (Barrie) and St. Michael’s Hospital (Toronto).

A small reception will be held following the service. Details will be provided at the funeral.
