Ivan Wilson Robinson

June 28, 1942 — April 3, 2024

Peacefully, on April 3rd, 2024, Ivan Wilson Robinson was called to reunite with the love of his life and wife of 40 years, Florence ‘Ann’ Robinson.   Ivan will be dearly missed by his sons Sean (Meghan) and Ryan (Christine), his grandsons Carter, Riley, Logan and Brendan, and his countless loved ones and friends.  Along with Ann, Ivan was predeceased by his sister Kay Ransom (Gary), second wife Jeanette (Hill) Robinson, and brother in law Bill Carter (Lorna).

Ivan was born in Collingwood, Ontario to parents Marian and Keith Robinson.  He lived his younger years in Avening, Stayner and Creemore.  Ivan and Ann met at a dance hall, married in 1968, and moved to Innisfil where they raised their young family.  Ivan was a devoted family man who was immensely proud of Sean and Ryan.   Ivan and Ann enjoyed cottaging at Lady Evelyn Lake with Joan and John Wilson, and travelling the world with their many friends.  His greatest joy was in becoming a grandfather.

Ivan was a treasured employee of Sandy Cove Marine for 35 years, where he was known as a meticulous worker and conscientious friend.   Everywhere he went, Ivan knew somebody.

After Ann’s passing, Ivan found new life when he met and married Jeanette (Hill) Robinson.  Along with creating cherished memories of new adventures, their marriage expanded Ivan’s family. He shared a very special bond with Jeanette’s daughter Dana and her husband Chris Parris, and their beautiful daughters Regan and Jaylene.

In recent years Ivan found happiness with his companion Gayle Collins, who cared for him at home during his final weeks.

Many thanks to the medical and nursing staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital Specialized Senior Care Unit for their kindness and care during Ivan’s last days.

A celebration of Ivan’s life will take place on Saturday, April 13th, 2024, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Innisfil Funeral Home, 7910 Yonge Street, Innisfil.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) Foundation or the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
