It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Jeanine Dempsey (nee Masse), of Innisfil, who passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital, on Sunday, June 28th, 2026, at the age of 74.
Born in Port Arthur, Ontario, she then moved to Hornepayne, where she met the love of her life and best friend, husband Joel. Jeanine and Joel moved to Stroud (Innisfil) 47 years ago and became part of an incredible community. Jeanine worked at CN and McDonalds. She was an avid “crafter” from painting, quilting, card making, needlepoint, photography, and the queen of crocheting. Jeanine also loved to travel; she and Joel had many adventures to warm, sunny climates. Their favourite was Azul Beach in the Mayan Riviera.
Above all else Jeanine’s greatest joy was being a mother and Baba. She loved them with all her heart. Jeanine will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 50 years Joel. Her children; Son Jason, his wife Ann and their daughter Abby. Daughter Rebecca, her spouse the late Jake Neal, and their children Janine, James, John, Jorja, and Joshalyn. Jeanine is pre-deceased by her parents Herve and Anne, and her brother Dan Masse.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Russell and the staff at the RVH Cancer Center, for their exceptional care, compassion and kindness shown to Jeanine and her loved ones throughout her journey.
A Celebration of Jeanine’s Life will be held on Wednesday, July 8th, 2026, at the Innisfil Funeral Home (7910 Yonge St., Stroud), with visitation from 1:00p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 2:00p.m. there will be a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeanine’s memory can be made to Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Center through the RVH Foundation.
