They married in 1967 and lived in Toronto for 6 years before settling in Innisfil in 1972. He started out as a truck driver while establishing a very successful custom home construction company called “Enzac Construction.” He worked day and night building homes in the Innisfil area to provide for his family and often recruited his sons to help on job sites. His strong-willed work ethic was well known, and he was very proud of being recognized for the quality of his workmanship. His spare time involved encouraging and supporting his sons’ athletic adventures, often taking them around the country and globe. John continued to share his love for sports with his grandchildren and spent many days with them on the ski hill or cheering them on at the field or rink. He enjoyed a good social gathering and the family holds dear the memories of summer days at their beloved family cottage on Rankin Lake in Parry Sound, Ontario. In retirement, John’s focus shifted to pursuing his inner child, by concentrating on personal health and fitness goals. He took up the sport of Duathlon racing and participated in many running/cycling events. His family is extremely proud of his motivation to remain active and of his accomplishments as a senior competitor. John’s Italian heritage remained steadfast as did his passion for growing his own food. He dedicated countless hours maintaining a sizable garden and shared the fruits of his labour with many. John also relished traveling and cruising to countless destinations with his friends and family over the years. His vacation to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary with his entire family in Mexico will be forever cherished. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff from the Senior Care Unit at the RVH for their compassion and support they provided during his final days.
