It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of John "Jack" Campbell, who departed from this world to his heavenly home on May 1, 2024. Jack, born on June 2, 1929, left behind a legacy of warmth, compassion and faithfulness that touched the lives of many.
Jack's memory lives on through his cherished family, particularly his beloved wife Rose Campbell (nee Fagents), whom he married in May 1952. He is survived by his daughter Wendy Peckham, grandchildren Laura (Kyle), Calissa, Sean (Amy), Lucas (Brianna), Jerrell, and Jada. Additionally, he is remembered by his daughters-in-law Shereen Campbell and Patty Campbell, son-in-law John Peckham, and a bunch of great-grandchildren - Caleb, Hannah, Nathan, Hunter, Sawyer, Isaac, Riley, Blake, Peyton, Finley, and Alondo.
Preceding Jack in death are his sons Scott Campbell (August 5, 2017), and Daniel Campbell (May 25, 2023), along with his sister, Anne and brother-in-law, Henry.
For over thirty years, Jack dedicated himself to driving for the TTC, not only excelling in his profession but also imparting his knowledge by teaching many of his family members to drive. His spirit of service extended beyond his career as he volunteered with the ministry "Christian Transportation" and served on an aircraft carrier in the Canadian Navy in peacetime.
Certainly among Jack's greatest joys and pleasures were his role as a deacon, Bible teacher, and mentor to the youth of his church. And part of his deep enjoyment of family gatherings was to share the Scriptures and pray for all of us with steadfast love and commitment. Jack will always be remembered and appreciated for his selfless acts of service to others, behind the scene supportive encouragement, his deeply valued loyal friendship, and his ability to bring joy to any gathering with his quiet but infectious sense of humour.
To honor Jack's life, a visitation will be held at the Innisfil Funeral Home on May 11th, beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. The burial will take place at the Sixth Line Cemetery at 1:00 PM, with a gathering to celebrate Jack's life back at the Innisfil Funeral Home at 2:00 PM.
Jack Campbell leaves behind a void that will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His family will miss his amazing hugs, reminding them of the warmth and love he shared. May he rest in peace, comforted by the knowledge that his love and kindness left an indelible mark on those whose lives he touched.
