John 'Rob' Robert Vince Fowlie

Passed peacefully surrounded by family on December 27, 2025, in Barrie at the age of 73.

Beloved husband to Maria (nee LaDelfa) for 35 years. Loving and devoted father to Irene (Jon) Marcotte. Proud grandfather to Weston and Abigail Marcotte. Predeceased by parents Vince and Irene. Dear brother to Cicily (predeceased), Cheryl, Chris (Penny), and Jim (Christine) and brother-in-law to Connie (Nino) and Paola (Sal). Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Rob will be dearly missed by his extended family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Rob worked with the Federal Government since the age of 25; retiring as the Director of Finance for Public Works Canada.

Known fondly to most as Rob, he was the most loyal, generous, and family-oriented man, which he proudly showcased when he received the Medal of Meritorious Conduct with Scouts Canada after saving the life of his youngest brother, Jim, in 1994.

He loved being outdoors whenever he could—playing softball, fishing quiet waters, or camping under open skies. When he slowed down, you’d find him with a good book or immersed in sci-fi and fantasy worlds. He rarely turned down a card game, was always ready to help family and friends solve a problem, and never missed a chance to spoil any dog that wandered to the garage or campground over the years.

Arrangements have been entrusted with the Innisfil Funeral Home. 7910 Yonge St., Innisfil (Stroud). Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Rob's life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation through the funeral home to Hospice Simcoe, The Red Cross, The War Amps, or North York General Hospital.
