Passed away peacefully at the age of 93, at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie, Ontario, on Wednesday, January 7th 2026.

He is survived by his children Kimberley Gonneau (Garry), Denise Paolucci (Mike), Robert (Leigh Ann) and Matthew (Sally). Poppa will be fondly remembered by his ten grandchildren; Taylor Gonneau (Jenny), Amanda Lloyd (Mack), Jessica Hardwicke-Brown (Andrew), Michael Paolucci (Amber), Robert Pitre, Joshua Pitre, Ethan Pitre, Emma Pitre, Coulson Pitre and Kaden Pitre and his seven Great grandchildren; Walker, Bronwyn, Carver, Cash, Jack, Kenzie and Isla.

Born in Bathurst, Gloucester County on April 1st 1932, to Alexandre Ernest Pitre and Mary Madonna Couture. Leo met Patricia when they worked for Eatons in the early 1950’s. Beginning their life together near Kennedy Road and 401, they moved to Patricia’s family cottage in Holland Landing in 1973, built a new house and raised their 4 children until retiring to Sandy Cove Acres in the early 2000’s. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hospice Simcoe who provided compassion and support during Leo’s final days.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held. In memory of Leo, the family would appreciate donations to Hospice Simcoe. Arrangements entrusted to Innisfil Funeral Home, 7910 Yonge St, Innisfil, ON.
