Obituary

In Loving Memory of Kim Darlene Pivetta
June 29, 1959 – October 5, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kim Darlene Pivetta. Kim passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026, at the age of 67, surrounded by loved ones.

For 45 years, Kim and her husband Ernie shared a beautiful marriage; a story that began in high school 48 years ago and grew into a lifetime of love. Kim was the heart of our family. She was selfless and caring, always thinking of others first. She greeted each day with gratitude, often remarking simply on what a beautiful day it was. Just knowing her would brighten yours.

She was the loving presence behind every celebration, thoughtfully arranging family gatherings and remembering every birthday with unwavering love. Kim cherished the simple joys of nature: quiet afternoons outside with her favourite music, watching birds gather at the feeder, admiring waterfalls, and soaking in the beauty of fall colours. Dragonflies will forever remind us of her gentle spirit.

Kim will be deeply missed by her husband Ernie Pivetta; children Lisa Hewitt (Jonathan) and Mark Pivetta (Marsha Macnab); grandchildren Charlotte Hewitt and Ethan Hewitt; mother Evelyn Hughes; mother‑in‑law Claire Pivetta; siblings Donna Hughes (Shirley Campbell), Brent Hughes (Diane), Christina Pivetta and Tom Pivetta (Monica).

The family would like to thank Marlene Dolfi, who was our anchor, as well as the staff and volunteers at Hospice Simcoe, for their wonderful support and compassion during this time.

Please join us in a celebration of Kim’s life on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Ferndale Banquet Hall, 24 Ferndale Industrial Drive, Barrie L4N 9W2. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Simcoe at www.hospicesimcoe.ca.

As Kim (and Bob Marley) would say, “Don’t worry about a thing, ’cause every little thing is gonna be alright.” Love and miss you forever.
