It is with profound sadness and immense love that we announce the passing of our beloved Leta McGowan. While our hearts are broken by her loss, we are forever grateful for the time we shared with a woman whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She lived a life centred on family, generosity, and selfless devotion, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who loved her.

Leta was the devoted wife and best friend of Neil McGowan for 48 wonderful years. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family.

She was a proud and loving mother to Michael McGowan and Amanda McGowan, and a cherished mother-in-law to Jessica McGowan. Nothing brought Leta greater joy than being "Grandma" to her beloved grandchildren, Maxwell and Emmelia McGowan, whom she loved beyond measure and treasured every moment spent with.

Leta was the dear sister of Louie Sanguigni (Colleen), Eloise Bonin (Robert), and Josephine Meyer (Joe). She was predeceased by her brothers, Guy Sanguigni and Armand Sanguigni. She will also be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness and generosity.

Family was the centre of Leta's world. She found her greatest happiness gathered around the table with those she loved, preparing delicious home-cooked meals, spending treasured days at the family cottage, or simply enjoying the everyday moments that became lifelong memories. Her warmth, generosity, and welcoming spirit made everyone feel at home.

More than anything, Leta will be remembered for her generous heart. She loved deeply, gave freely, and always put others before herself. Her compassion, humour, quiet strength, and unwavering support touched countless lives, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff and caregivers whose kindness, dedication, and support brought comfort to Leta and her loved ones throughout her journey.

Leta's love, grace, and gentle spirit will be forever remembered and deeply missed, but never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Leta's memory may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada or Hospice Simcoe in appreciation for the compassionate care she received.
