Pauline Stephenson

It is with deep sadness that the family of Mabel Pauline Stephenson (née Longhurst) announce her peaceful passing at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on August 29, 2026. Pauline was the beloved wife of the late Gordon Stephenson, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. Pauline will be deeply missed by her children, Don (Tina) and Valerie (Larry); grandchildren Laura (J.S.), Sara (Rob) and William (Kiersten); and great-grandchildren Riley, Glen and Dahlia.

Pauline was born in Newmarket in 1927, where she grew up in a busy family home with six brothers and sisters, and a large extended family.

Pauline worked for many years as a switchboard operator with Bell Canada. She and Gord wed in 1957 and made their family home in Maple where they lived until the age of 80, when they moved to Barrie to be closer to family.

Pauline enjoyed playing games such as euchre, bingo and Rummy-O, painting ceramics, and hosting dinners for her family. She loved bringing family together and took great joy in spending time with those she loved.

Family and friends are invited to the Innisfil Funeral Home (7910 Yonge Street, Innisfil) for a visitation from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to stay afterwards for a reception, where light refreshments and fond memories can be shared. A procession to the Maple United Cemetery (2000 Major Mackenzie Drive W, Maple) will follow the reception, where Pauline will be brought to her final resting place.

Pauline will be remembered for her kindness, optimism and the warmth she brought to her family, and will be missed by all who knew her.

Donations can be made in Pauline's honour to MS Canada or Stroud Presbyterian Church.
