Margaret Victoria (MacLeod) Bailey

Born in Toronto to Williamena and Alexander MacLeod, Margaret personified a life well lived. She passed away peacefully at her home in Innisfil and is predeceased by her loving husband Thornton. She is survived by her four children, Thorna (Dennis Lawrence), Pegi (Peter Franklyn), Cameron (Beth), Stuart (Sandra), and her twelve beloved grandchildren - Ellena & Matthew Lawrence; Bailey, Ramsey, Klara, & Will Franklyn; Mackenzie, Georgia, Lucia & Axel Bailey; and Victoria & Connor Bailey.

Margaret attended Riverdale Collegiate and East Commerce Collegiate in Toronto prior to graduating from the Toronto Western Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. She returned to university later in life graduating with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Calgary at age 50. Margaret enjoyed a varied and successful career in health care which culminated in her owning and operating her own business prior to retirement. Her interests were diverse, especially loving her volunteer time at the ’88 Winter Olympics and many alpine ski competitions at Lake Louise. While she was fortunate enough to travel the world, her favourite place was her cottage at Drag Lake which she was able to enjoy one last time in her 94th year.

She was much loved and will be missed. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Words of comfort for the family may be left on the Tribute Wall.
