Poppy Isabel Harbinson

July 6, 1930 — April 22, 2025

Early in the morning of April 22, 2025 Poppy, age 94, surrounded by her daughters, left us to be with the Lord. Poppy was born in London, Ontario and had a very happy, active life filled with family, friends, and many activities, such as; painting, sewing, including making wedding dresses for her family. Many happy, fun-filled years were spent building and enjoying the family cottage on McKellar Lake. She got her nursing degree while raising five kids with support from her church family, People’s Church, Toronto.

It was Poppy‘s desire to be cremated and buried with her husband, Charles Edwin Edgecombe at Highland Memory Gardens, North York.

Poppy is predeceased by her spouse, Charles Edwin Edgecombe and Dr. Desmond Johnstone Harbinson. Also predeceased by her sister Betty Dragus and brother Jim Fogarty. Poppy is survived by two sisters Sharon Urquhart and Shirley Fogarty.

Devoted mother to five children; Lynda Taggart (Ernie Bergeler), Randy Edgecombe (deceased) (Carolyn), Terry Reid (John), Brenda Blackburn, Dawn Shearer (Gary deceased).

Her eleven grandchildren; Daniel Hoskin (Barb), Angela De Gooyer, Pamela Edgecombe, Wayne Edgecombe (Rose), Kimberli Jordan (Kevin), Jamee Baptiste (Joseph), Michael Blackburn (Tina), Robyn Allan (Shane), Brittany Kaye (Rob), Matthew Shearer(Aleesha ) Garrett Shearer (Lora).

Her eighteen Great grandchildren; Terry, Leah, Bryon, Shelby, Danielle, Adam, Raven, Taos, Tiannah, Hunter, Lachlan, Alex, Grayson, Dane, Amelia, Elyana, Myla and Garrison. 

Her six Great great grandchildren, Izabelle , Erica, Norah, Ellis, Quinn and Kate.

Funeral will take place at Innisfil Community Church, 1571 Innisfil Beach Rd, Innisfil, ON L9S 4B3 at 4:00 PM on May 4, 2025. Reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Ontario diabetes Association, the Ontario SPCA or Innisfil Community Church.
