Raymond Levo, a beloved partner, mentor, and best friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2024, in Barrie at the age of 71. Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ray's life was marked by his love for animals, his passion for teaching, and his joy in life's simple pleasures.
Ray is survived by his spouse, Phyllis Bostanci, who will forever cherish the memories and love he shared with her.
Known for his playful nature, Ray loved clowning around and playing practical jokes. His colleagues at Roy Foss and Wilson Niblett always knew who was behind the latest prank, and they cherished his fun-loving spirit.
Ray loved traveling across Canada, exploring the beautiful landscapes and coastlines of Nova Scotia and British Columbia. Ray could often be found at Innisfil Beach or Wasaga Beach, enjoying the tranquility of being by the water.
Ray's passion for teaching began during his time as a service manager, where he trained many new employees in the automotive industry. His dedication to education led him to become an automotive instructor and developed his own company, Service Drive Automotive Training, and then later at the Automotive Business School at Georgian College. His teaching career took him coast to coast in Canada and across the United States, impacting countless lives along the way.
Ray grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, where he learned the art of car repair at his father's mechanic shop. He also helped out at his grandparents' dairy farm, developing a strong work ethic and a love for the outdoors.
Ray was such a bright light for everyone who knew him, and we will miss him more than words could ever express. His legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help cover Ray's funeral costs and expenses. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated during this difficult time. https://www.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-of-ray-levo
