Shirley Ann Richardson

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Shirley Richardson. Shirley passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe with family by her side.

Shirley is survived by her partner Nick, her children Stephen (Kim), Donna (James), Gary, and Dale (Deanna). Lovingly known by many as Nana, Shirley is also survived by her grandchildren Stephen (Charlotte), Bobbie Joe (Jay), Randy, Julia (Michael), Mary Jane, Nick, Alli, and Jared. Shirley also has many beloved great grandchildren who will all miss her terribly; Mikayla, Bailey, Madison, Dylan, Kenna, Charley, Desiree, Lilly and Tucker.

Shirley made an impact on so many lives and devoted her life to caring for those around her. She loved her neighbourhood and making up goodie bags and presents for the kids. She also made sure to have treats handy for all the neighbourhood dogs. Shirley was also a proud fur-nana to Teddy, who always managed to put a smile on her face.

Shirley was the most selfless and caring woman that you could ever meet. Our hearts are left with a void that only time may heal.

We would like to thank all of the incredible staff and volunteers at Hospice Simcoe for the beautiful care they provided to Shirley and her family. Although she was only there for a very short time, the entire team made her last couple of days better than we ever thought possible. I would like to give a special thank you to Fran, Irene, Lori, and Garrett. I wish you had the opportunity to know Shirley sooner, you would have had many laughs.

Finally, we would like to thank Shirley's dedicated care team- Dr. Katelyn Moss, Dr. Matthew Moss; and nurses Angel and Tammy, and PSW Kim.

In honour of Shirley, we ask in lieu of flowers or condolences that donations be made to Hospice Simcoe. No one will ever be able to fill Shirley's shoes in the eyes of all who knew her but in donating to Hospice Simcoe, you will allow others in the community the opportunity to feel the level of love that Shirley showed to those who mattered most to her.
