Vito Cozzella

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Vito Cozzella on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at the Hospice Simcoe on his 62nd birthday, after his courageous fight with cancer. Beloved husband of Fatima for 28 wonderful years. Devoted and loving father to his daughter Elizabeth (Timothy), and his sons Daniel and Gabriel. Loving brother to Anna, Tony (Teresa), and Sandra (Fernando). Loving grandfather to Katarina, Dante, and Lucia. And a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews Nick, Alessia, Nick and Victoria, and great nephew Rome. Vito predeceased his mother Elisabetta. Vito was born in Milano, Italy on December 11, 1963 and later immigrated to Canada with his family when he was only 3 years old. Lived in Toronto with his father and mother, Nicola and Elisabetta, and his 3 siblings. Vito started work as a brick layer at the age of 16 and worked hard to build a great life for himself. Vito met his darling wife Fatima in 1994 and instantly bonded and fell in love and they married on October 4th 1997. Vito lived a simple yet adventurous life. He was the life of the party and was always there to lend a hand. He touched the lives of all who knew him. He loved nature and being outdoors, going fishing, making bonfires and having a nice cold beer in his cowboy hat on those hot summer days. He took pride in his home and was always working away chopping wood or building something in his backyard. Those of you who knew him knew who he was, straightforward and honest. He cherished spending time with his family and friends whether it was sharing a drink or a meal or just hanging out. When it was time to wind down he loved to sit in his recliner and do his word search puzzles. He was such a delight to be around, he was a light in the darkness. Vito will truly be missed by his entire family and all his close friends. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Innisfil Funeral Home, 7910 Yonge Street, Stroud. There will be a traditional ceremony to honour the life of Vito. The viewing will take place on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, public visiting: 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The service will be held Thursday, December 18th at 11am with visiting from 10am. Cremation following the Service. We as the family are asking that in lieu of flowers, a donation to be made in his memory to Hospice Simcoe for all the comfort, and support they gave us in our short time of being there. They made our last moments with Vito very peaceful. Vito will never be forgotten and will forever and always be in our hearts.
