In Loving Memory of Wendy Alice Drover (nee Budden). Wendy, age 82, of Kitchener, ON passed away on August 21, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother (Nan), great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, known for her unwavering love and kindness. Born on June 27, 1943, in Sydney, NSW, Australia, Wendy had a bubbly exterior with an interior heart of gold. She dedicated her life to raising her family and instilling in them the values of compassion, resilience and hard work. Everyone was welcome in Wendy’s home, all you had to do was darken her doorstep. She is survived by her three children, Victoria (Shawn) Reevey of Owen Sound, Andrew (Jodi) Holford of Cambridge and Adam Holford of Kitchener, her cherished grandchildren, Christopher (Denna), Alison (Michael), Ryan (Amanda), Mars and Wren, her step-grandchildren, Emmerson and Xavier, and her beloved great-grandchildren, Lily and Jack.
Wendy grew up in Killara, NSW, Australia with her younger sister, Susan Brain (nee Budden). She attended Abbotsleigh School for Girls, was active at St. Martin’s Anglican Church, Killara and spent cherished time at the family beach house at Whale Beach. She moved to Canada in 1972 as a wife and mother and started a new life in Mississauga. She became active in the Parent Teacher Organization at her children’s school and Girl Guides of Canada as well as babysitting children. She later enjoyed her time working for Just Kids and then Hillebrand Estates Winery (André’s) before retiring. In 1998 she married Bill and moved to Sandy Cove Acres in Stroud where she spent many happy years making new friends, going to dances and travelling. It is here she faced her biggest challenges, the loss of Bill and beating breast cancer. She had recently moved to Kitchener to be closer to family, and this is where she lived the rest of her life.
Wendy was predeceased by her loving husband, William (Bill) Drover, her parents, Philip and Margaret (nee Peck) Budden and her birth mother, Betty Hodges (nee Anderson), who lovingly knew her as Janice.
