William "Bill" George Bilokrely

Surrounded by his loving family, William “Bill” Bilokrely passed away peacefully on Sunday May 3, 2026 in his 68th year at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie, Ontario.

Bill was the much-loved only son of Olga and William “Bill” Bilokrely Sr., born May 18, 1958 in Toronto, Ontario. Bill spent much of his younger years at the family cottage his father built in Innisfil, Ontario. It is in this neighbourhood that Bill met and married Iris, the love of his life. The cottage was a special place that he would one day transform into his family home, using his many skills acquired as a mechanical millwright and all-around handyman. Over the years it would become a place where he delighted in watching his children, and then later, his grandchildren, grow.

Bill had a deep love and respect for animals, science and nature and was truly in his element at the cabin that he shared with Iris on the shores of Lake Superior. Bill took great pleasure in driving his snowmobile, Corvette, and motorcycle, as well as simple trips in his truck, always rocking out to his favourite songs. He and Iris loved music, attending concerts of all genres. They greatly enjoyed their time together discovering new places on their excursions throughout Canada and the United States.

Bill was a character who had a sense of humour like no other. He was well-known as a joker, doing just about anything to get a rise out of any person who crossed his path. Stories seemed to follow him wherever he went, and anyone who knew him is sure to have a special memory or scandalous tale to share. Bill always lived large, laughed hard and believed in bending the rules a bit if it meant there was a good time to be had.

What Bill loved most, though, was spending time with his wife and family, and the friends that became family. Whether it be large gatherings for holidays, a weekend visit with his grandkids, a drink with his best buddy on the front deck, or a simple weekend bonfire in the backyard (which usually included fireworks), Bill took great enjoyment in the times spent with those who meant the most to him.

His loss leaves a big space in our lives that cannot be filled. He will be missed tremendously.

Bill is survived by those who loved him most. He is the cherished husband of Iris; beloved father of Jennifer (Mathew) and Brian (Mary); and proud Opa of Hunter, Blake, Nicole, Jackson and Benjamin. Lovingly remembered by his best friend and “brother” Bob, sisters-in-law Doris (Ray) and Christina (Greg), nephew Robert (Leyla) and niece Mackenzie. He is greatly missed by his constant companion, his cat, “Cat.” Bill is predeceased by his parents, Bill Sr. and Olga, in-laws Kurt and Gisela, sister-in-law Andrea, and niece, Jessica.

Special thank you to Dr. Mills, Dr. Russell, the nurses from Bayshore Healthcare (especially Nadia), and the staff and volunteers of Hospice Simcoe for the incredible care given to Bill.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday May 12, 2026, at Innisfil Funeral Home, 7910 Yonge Street, Innisfil, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Service celebrating Bill’s life will take place from 11:00 a.m. in the chapel, immediately followed by burial service at St. Paul’s Cemetery, 3294 Saint Paul’s Crescent, Barrie. Reception to commence at Innisfil Funeral Home, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
